Hutchinson Medical Center advances with
electronic health records (EHR)
Recent studies have shown electronic health record systems improve the quality, safety, and efficiency
of the health care patients receive. This makes the advancement to EHR a logical transition for HMC.
An EHR system allows your Provider to computerize your health care information. This enables
quick, convenient access for those who are authorized to review your records,
and assists them in giving you the highest quality care.
During the initial operation of EHR, you may experience minor delays in regular procedures. For example,
it may take a few extra minutes to schedule an appointment, see your Provider, or get answers to your billing questions. You may be asked to update your patient information, including medical history and insurance information, to be sure all your data is accurately documented.
These delays are temporary, and will ultimately make these same procedures function more smoothly.
